Drainage Construction through the efforts of CPs

In June 2023, drainage had broken due to repair of a water pipeline in Chilkiya village. The drainage water started coming on to the roads, along with the water, household waste also started accumulating on the roads. The incidence of mosquitoes also started increasing. There was outbreak of different types of diseases.

In view of this difficult situation, a meeting was held with 20 children by Chand Group on 23-10-2023. In the meeting the children decided to write an application for the drainage and present it in the Gram Sabha meeting.

On 09.11.2023 the leaders of the Chand Group gave application to the Pradhan for drainage but no action was taken by him. But children did not give up and on 28. 12. 2023 again proposal was given to the local MLA for the construction of drainage. He considered the application of the children and assured them that would do the work soon. The work of drainage began in the month of January 2024 and in the month of February 2024 the drainage construction work was completed.

After the completion of the work 5 members of CP themselves came forward and cleaned the drainage. Other CPs members were influenced by 5 CP members and 10 CPs members joined with them. Now every month cleanliness of drainage is done by them.
